Therefore, it generates more BTU (2500 BTU) compared to natural gas (1000 BTU). Propane is considered energy efficient and non-polluting because it does not contain lead, has low greenhouse gas emissions, and produces water vapor and carbon dioxide. Therefore, it makes more BTU per cubic foot than natural gas. However, the BTU per cubic foot is much higher than natural gas. Thus, the final cost is higher, mainly because it needs to be transported by tanker truck.
