Natural gas is an odorless gas. It comes with ethyl mercaptan as a leak indicator. LPG (propane) has a smell because of ethyl mercaptan (an odorant-) that is extra in gas composition is added to sense the leaks. LPG (propane and butane) and natural gas (methane) are odorless gases in their natural state.
