It blooms very rapidly in the warm temperature where the sun shines brightly and gets a high level of nutrients. These algae consume all the oxygen and block sunlight for other photosynthetic organisms. Sometimes algal blooms can produce toxic substances which is very harmful and may affect marine life even humans as well. Blue-green algae are found in five Kansas lakes. They are Perry Reservoir, Big Hill Reservoir, Marion Reservoir, Old Herington City Lake, and Logan City Lake. 0 Reply Share Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on WhatsApp Leave an answerLeave an answerCancel reply Attachment Select file Browse Featured image Select file Browse Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
