This horse was 16 hands long and was notable due to its strength, courage and speed. Robert Lee owned him in February, 1862 and was ridden by him in many wars. His original name was Greenbrier but Lee changed his name and named him ‘Traveller’ because of his capacity to walk at a quick pace.
