Most Web marketers rely on PHP-based firewalls to defend against brute force attacks, which makes their sites run even slower because the PHP code executes for every request. Denying or dropping the rogue crawls at the server level is more effective. 0 Reply Share Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on WhatsApp admin 113 Questions 222 Answers 74 Best Answers 4 Points View Profile Best Answer admin 2020-10-22T05:53:23+00:00Added an answer on October 22, 2020 at 5:53 am Plugins are the last resort. Slowness is starting with the hosting, but more often it is due to poor plugins and content management. A website should perform reasonably good even without optimization in place. Once that is solved, when it comes to plugins my favourites are WP Rocket combined with Perfmatters (Or Asset Manager). There used to be other plugins in the stack, but these two evolved enough to take their job (like lazy-loading, preloading, preconnecting, etc). 0 Reply Share Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on WhatsApp Leave an answerLeave an answerCancel reply Attachment Select file Browse Featured image Select file Browse Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
